2011 The Year Of The Rabbit

The 55th ceremony of the zodiac sign replacement took place last Monday at the Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka as usual. A tiger cub and two bunnies participated at this ceremony, representing the Chinese zodiac signs of the current year ( Year of the Metal Tiger ) and the year to come ( Year of the Metal Rabbit ), symbolizing the passing of responsibility from the tiger to the rabbit. While most of Asia remains faithful to the Chinese lunar calendar for the Lunar New Year, Japan uses the Western style calendar for both. It makes New Year's Day the start of 2011 and the Year of the Rabbit.

Traditional Rabbit attributes and associations:
Zodiac Location: 4th
Ruling hours: 5am-7am
Direction: East
Motto: “Let there be peace, and let it begin with me”
Season and month: Spring, March
Fixed element: Wood
Stem: Negative
Gemstone: Aquamarine
Color: Green, Aqua
Roughly equivalent western sign: Pisces
Polarity: Yin
Ruling Countries: Oman Oman, Iraq Iraq, Malaysia Malaysia, Croatia Croatia, Chile Chile, Syria Syria

The tradition says that the Year of the Rabbit will probably be gracious, good friend, kind, sensitive, soft-spoken, amiable, elegant, reserved, cautious, artistic, thorough, tender, self-assured, shy, astute, compassionate, lucky and flexible. But can be moody, detached, superficial, self-indulgent, opportunistic and stubborn.

Tiger-chan is so cute! <3

But bunnies are even more adorable >w<

Manny return to their hometowns to celebrate the new year with family.

Some rabbit owners dress them up and have a *hopping* good time. At "Bunny Family" just south of Tokyo, on Tuesday, bunny owners primp their pets for the New Year. They're hoping to immortalize their furry bundle in a photo session.

During this period of the year, bunnie figurines are manufactured in many places in Japan. Some bunnie crafts bellow ^^

Makeup Vs. No Makeup

Gosh i'm amazed, the power of makeup! Must learn how to do that xD They were already pretty but that made them look awesome, although i think maybe it's a little exaggerated, the eye lenses makes them have a not so natural look, but that's all ^^ Oh and the hosts were a bit rude sometimes, the girls are also very pretty without make up, they shouldn't despise their natural beauty.

Assassin's Creed: Beautiful Lies

Greatest Assassin's Creed video I have ever seen! Enjoy and merry Christmas minna-san~ :h
Video Description

Song is "Beautiful Lies" by B-Complex

Who's the better Assassin?!
Not too much to say about this one. I really loved the song and the Assassin's Creed games, so I made this!

I'm a huge fan of the AC trailers, especially the UNKLE "Lonely Soul" and "Burn my Shadow Away" ones and wanted to do something similar in how they're basically just music videos. Plus, every fan made "trailer" or tribute to the series I can find is always just boring mash-ups of Ubisoft's official trailers and I was sick of seeing those.

It's tough making your own though, with no developer tools to control cameras or set anything up. I don't know how many times I had to manually align camera angles back and forth between the two games or have the tools I was using to slow the game down cause Altair or Ezio to just flip out and ragdoll into oblivion. Even so, I just played the game a whole lot and everything is shot, recorded, and edited myself. I hope you enjoy.

I might actually put together a bloopers video later of all the crazy mess ups that happened while I was frapsing. Some of them had me loling hard or just outright disgusted.

Culture:Japan

Culture:Japan is a TV show directed and presented by Danny Choo which brings Japanese Pop Culture to the world and features contents that folks in and outside of Japan would enjoy. Currently broadcasts on Tokyo MX TV in Japan and across Asia on the Animax Network, but hopefully it'll be available worldwide soon ^^ Can't wait for it, as i really love what i have seen of the show till now, and of course whatever comes from Danny Choo must be good! :P

And since we are talking about Mr. Danny, let me also say a few things about this. It's been quite a while since i discovered hes website, and i must say that it has been a positive influence in my life. I used to be in what he calls 'the comfort zone', wanted to do things but ended up never starting them and making excuses and thinking 'i will do it tomorrow', i knew what was happening but didn't have the will to change it, this among other things like not having clear objectives in life, not knowing what to do in the future, everything seemed so blurry and confusing. One day i came across his website and immediately got addicted to it, but only a bit later i found his motivational articles, that was when my life changed for good! All hes good advices and its own example of success showing that anyone can materialize their dreams if they fight for them and never quit, it all encouraged me to become more determined and focused on the things i want to achieve in life, i'm really thankful to Danny, he's become sort of an hero and idol to me <3 It's also thanks to him that i decided to create this blog, so that i was able to share my passions with others and with you that are on the other side of the screen, and that is something that truly makes me happy ^^

Give it a try in case you are experiencing the same things i did, it might help you. But anyway i have written to much, enough of talky talk xD Bellow the official page, trailer and Culture:Japan Episode 0. Enjoy minna-san~ :h

How to make a Daft Punk helmet in 17 months

It looks so cool! Too bad he isn't taking orders for duplicates, i would definitely want one xD
This video chronicles my odyssey with replicating the iconic gold Daft Punk helmet worn by Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo. Over the process, I took hundreds of pictures, mostly because my crummy digital camera I shoot with has a bum autofocus. What you see are the collection of all of these images, and a little hint of video as well.

Programming for the helmet code was done by James Moss.
