Cosplay - Jordan O'Leary is Breaking Down

Found this sort of documentary/show a phew days ago that features an outsider from the cosplay culture who got curious about this activity and the reason why people do it and put so many effort on the outfits, so decides to dive directly into the cosplay world and starts discovering what it is all about. I find it quite interesting and funny, how he reacts to all the new adventures ahead of him ^^

You know that you've thought about doing it. Dressing up and acting as your favorite bad ass, your most admired musical performer or villain from a film. The mystery and wonderment that is cosplay has plagued Jordan for years but he's finally doing something about it! To get to the core of the motivation behind these fantasy seekers Jordan will have to immerse himself into the community and find out for himself if it's all the rage or just glorified Halloween.

Ezio Cosplay

Decided to start the Ezio cosplay by working on the belt insignia, i know it's one of the hardest parts but that's why i wanna do it first. Basically i'm just experimenting things, never done anything like this before so dunno what to expect of it xD But i guess it isn't turning out that bad, here's what i've done till now:

I'm guiding myself on the image bellow.

I'm sculpting this on some cheap clay i found on a local supermarket, dunno what type of clay it is or even if its appropriate to sculpt with but till now it seems fine. Here's what i've used till now.

Those toothpicks came quite in handy xD Some photos of the sculpting process bellow.

Does any of you have any experience with clay sculpting? If so then what tips can you give to a newbie like me? ^^

Cosplay Projects

Been having some ideas in mind of late, and finally decided to make them reality. I've always wanted to cosplay but never really had the iniciative or any experience with making clothes and working with other materials whatsoever. It was only about 2 years ago that i started making some experiments and since then i think i learned a phew things. Of course i still have a long way to go, but i'll eventually learn more as i work on it. So here's what's been on my mind:

Fai D. Flowright from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle

I have been a fan of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle for a long time now, and Fai is one of my favorite characters! I love how playful and funny he is but at the same time can also be serious, mysterious and powerful <3 And guess i love all the magician thing, they always look so awesome with those staffs and clothes xD Hum the most difficult thing about this character seems to be the staff, but dunno, we'll later see how it turns out.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed II

Oh Ezio, so many things to say about you and Assassin's Creed xD I don't even have words to express how much i love it, i can say it truly is by far the best game i have played in all my life, i'm completely addicted to it! And gosh i know that ezio will be a true challenge to bring to reality, because it involves much more than just making clothes, but still i just can't resist to at least try ahah


( By the way i've no clue why i want so much to cosplay as male characters xD ) Soooo these are the projects i want to be working on in the future. I have plenty of other characters i also want to cosplay but for me these two are a must so i'll work on them first. I'll try to share with you as much as i can of the process of making and hope to be able meet other cosplayers and exchange ideas ^^ Looking forward to it! Culture:Japan

Culture:Japan is a TV show directed and presented by Danny Choo which brings Japanese Pop Culture to the world and features contents that folks in and outside of Japan would enjoy. Currently broadcasts on Tokyo MX TV in Japan and across Asia on the Animax Network, but hopefully it'll be available worldwide soon ^^ Can't wait for it, as i really love what i have seen of the show till now, and of course whatever comes from Danny Choo must be good! :P

And since we are talking about Mr. Danny, let me also say a few things about this. It's been quite a while since i discovered hes website, and i must say that it has been a positive influence in my life. I used to be in what he calls 'the comfort zone', wanted to do things but ended up never starting them and making excuses and thinking 'i will do it tomorrow', i knew what was happening but didn't have the will to change it, this among other things like not having clear objectives in life, not knowing what to do in the future, everything seemed so blurry and confusing. One day i came across his website and immediately got addicted to it, but only a bit later i found his motivational articles, that was when my life changed for good! All hes good advices and its own example of success showing that anyone can materialize their dreams if they fight for them and never quit, it all encouraged me to become more determined and focused on the things i want to achieve in life, i'm really thankful to Danny, he's become sort of an hero and idol to me <3 It's also thanks to him that i decided to create this blog, so that i was able to share my passions with others and with you that are on the other side of the screen, and that is something that truly makes me happy ^^

How to make a Daft Punk helmet in 17 months

It looks so cool! Too bad he isn't taking orders for duplicates, i would definitely want one xD

This video chronicles my odyssey with replicating the iconic gold Daft Punk helmet worn by Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo. Over the process, I took hundreds of pictures, mostly because my crummy digital camera I shoot with has a bum autofocus. What you see are the collection of all of these images, and a little hint of video as well.

Programming for the helmet code was done by James Moss.

Iberanime OPO 2010

Helooooow minna-san! ^^ As you can notice i'm very amused ahah That's cuz me participated on Iberanime OPO 2010 last Saturday :D Guess i can say it was the first medium/large scale event in which i participated. It was a lot of fun and i have a ton of photos to share with you all, wanna take a look?

The event took place inside the Pavilhão Rosa Mota in Oporto, Portugal. Here are its gardens ( peacocks wandering freely through the place )
